When not administered by an expert, fillers can sometimes not give the desired results. Thankfully, hyaluronic acid fillers can be broken down quickly and easily with little downtime.
The breakdown of unwanted filler involves the injection of an enzyme called Hyaluronidase (or Hyalase for short), which safely removes the filler in a short period of time. Usually the removal of filler involves multiple injections into an area of filler, then waiting for around 72 hours for the filler to be completely removed.

How It Works
Both hyaluronic acid and hyaluronidase are naturally occurring substances in the body. The hyaluronic acid used in dermal fillers is specially formulated so that the body’s natural enzymes do not break it down easily, which is why fillers last for months. In cases where correction is needed, synthetic hyaluronidase is used as a dissolving enzyme.
During treatment, hyaluronidase is carefully injected into the targeted area where the filler needs to be dissolved. The enzyme works by breaking down the bonds of hyaluronic acid, allowing it to be naturally absorbed and eliminated by the body.
The enzyme works quickly, with results often visible within hours to a few days as the filler begins to break down. A patch test is usually carried out on the same day before treatment to ensure no allergy is present.
In some cases, more than one session may be needed to achieve the desired result, especially if larger volumes or denser filler were originally placed.

Am I suitable for filler dissolve?
Only hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Other types of fillers, such as those made from calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid, cannot be reversed with this treatment.

Is dissolving filler safe?

How long does it take for the unwanted filler to dissolve?
Results are typically visible within 72 hours as the hyaluronic acid filler is broken down. The full effect is usually apparent within 1–2 weeks, once any swelling has subsided and the area has fully settled.
If further correction or new filler treatment is desired, it is recommended to wait a minimum of 2 weeks after the dissolve procedure. This allows the area to fully settle and ensures that residual hyaluronidase does not affect any new filler placed.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site is common and usually settles within a few days. Rarely, allergic reactions or infection may occur. Full aftercare instructions will be provided, and your safety is prioritised at every step.
