How It Works
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found throughout the body, including the skin, eyes, and joints. It can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water, making it exceptionally effective for hydration. As we age, our natural production of hyaluronic acid diminishes, leading to loss of moisture, plumpness and visible signs of ageing.
Profhilo® contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in aesthetics. Injected into the dermis at five precise points on each side of the face, known as BAP technique, it spreads evenly through the skin, treating the entire area.
Its action is dual-phase. In the immediate term, the hyaluronic acid hydrates deeply, plumping fine lines and giving the skin an almost instant luminosity. Over the following three to six months, it stimulates dermal fibroblast cells to produce four types of collagen and elastin – a process known as neocollagenesis. The result, measurably thicker, more resilient skin with improved hydration, tone, texture, and elasticity.

Is the treatment suitable for me?
Profhilo works at the level of skin quality rather than individual concerns — making it well suited to anyone noticing a gradual shift in how their skin looks and feels. Loss of hydration, a dullness that doesn’t respond to skincare, fine crepiness, or skin that has lost its former bounce are all signs that the deeper architecture of the skin – its collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid levels – is changing.
Profhilo is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or within three to six months of completing a course of Roaccutane.

Is the treatment safe?

Is Profhilo the same as a dermal filler?
No. Although the key ingredient is the same, hyaluronic acid, Profhilo does not add volume or alter facial structure. It spreads freely through the dermis to improve skin quality overall — think of it as an injectable moisturiser that also stimulates your skin’s own regenerative processes.
Is the treatment comfortable?
Are there any side effects or risks?
Profhilo can produce similar side effects to other injectable procedures, including: swelling, minor bruising, redness and / or small bumps on the skin. Like other injectable procedures, these effects will also be temporary and will often subside within 24 or 48 hours.
